Claire has extensive experience of international arbitrations, and is accustomed to interpreted evidence, non-native English speakers and incorporating foreign text into daily and realtime transcripts.

She has worked at the ICC and World Bank in Paris, the Peace Palace and IUSCT in The Hague, 7A Strandvagen hearing centre in Stockholm, and numerous hotels and hearing locations throughout Europe.

The Service

Realtime

Hearing room realtime is provided using a wireless network, minimising the number of cables in the hearing room.  Full-sized laptops are provided as standard, with netbooks available on request, running the Bridge realtime program, with auto-refreshed text and page & line numbers very close to the final transcript.

One connection each is provided for the Tribunal, with the cost split between the parties, and the parties separately pay for the number of connections they have requested.

Audio

Audio is recorded digitally and synced with the transcript for ease of access.  If a simultaneous interpretation set-up is used, or the hearing location has an audio set-up, a feed will be taken from the set-up already in place.  If not, a digital microphone and mixer set-up can be installed without charge.

There is also a separate back-up recording unit.  Audio can be provided to parties on request, in whole or to check specific portions of the transcript.

Transcript

The final transcript is delivered via email within two hours after the close of each day’s hearing.  On hearings lasting two days or more, a hard copy in a binder is provided to each member of the Tribunal.

The transcript will have been checked by an editor or scopist working remotely, using Viivo-encrypted Dropbox files to access the text and audio.  All documents quoted in the transcript are checked, including PowerPoint presentations if provided electronically.

Virtual & Remote Realtime

Remote Realtime

Remote realtime connections are also available via a web browser, using Bridge Mobile or GotomyPC depending on the internet connection in the hearing room.

However if witness sequestration has been ordered, break-out room connections should be confirmed with the Tribunal and may require a Procedural Order.

Virtual

Claire is experienced at providing realtime and daily transcripts at remote hearings and is happy to join any web-based platform eg Webex, Zoom, Teams to provide realtime feed via a browser to any device.
